Glenville - Adrienne V. Karis, 103, of Windsor Drive passed away on September 18, 2026 at Glendale Home. Adrienne was born in New York City to Emile and Beatrice Aubry and was a graduate of Valley Stream High School, Long Island. Following college, Adrienne worked as a medical office assistant at Sydenham Hospital in New York City, and Mitchell Field Air Base on Long Island.
Upon becoming a Glenville resident in 1947 she worked at General Electric as a secretary for seven years. While her sons were in college she worked for Olsten Temporary Services as a secretary. She served for a few years on the Executive Committee of the Glenville Residents' Association. Other organizations in which she was a member: Hiking Chairman, Secretary and Director of the Mohawk Valley Hiking Club for many years; Scotia -Glenville Senior Citizens. She volunteered to beautify with flowers the intersection of Rt. 50 & Freeman's Bridge Rd. as well as under the sign at the Mayfair Shopping Center on Rt. 50 for many years.
She was instrumental in the preservation of the Greens Corners One Room School in West Glenville and has coordinated the upkeep and volunteers after arranging for its ownership by the Town of Glenville since 1976. Adrienne was also a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville.
Adrienne was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Raymond T. Karis, whom she married November 3, 1945 and her son Thomas Karis and his wife Elizabeth. She is also predeceased by her siblings Paul Aubry, Dr. Richard Aubry and Louise Garavaglia.
Adrienne is survived by her son Kevin Karis and his wife Tee ; grandchildren Gregory, Meagan and Aubry as well as her sister Patricia Rose.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd., Glenville, NY. A private burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. There will be no calling hours.
