James R. Delefano, born on December 18, 1963, in Schenectady, New York, passed away suddenly on September 22, 2026, at his home in Schenectady, New York. He was 62 years old.

A lifelong resident of the Schenectady area, Jim graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and later attended Schenectady County Community College. Following his education, James went on to work for the Golub Corporation in Rotterdam for many years.

James had a strong love for the outdoors and found joy in fishing and hunting. These interests brought him peace and gave him time to reflect and enjoy the world around him. He also treasured spending time with his family and friends, and those moments were among the most meaningful in his life.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Patricia (Kokosa) Delefano.

James is survived by his siblings, Nicki Leet, Joseph Delefano (Vicky), Jeffrey Delefano, and Michele Armstrong. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him with love and affection. His canine companion, Rex, was also an important part of his life and brought him comfort and companionship.

Calling hours for Jim will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 5 pm to 7 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. A funeral service for James will be on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 11 am at DeMarco - Stone Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
