Obituary

Joshua Michael Lyman, age 36, passed away on October 9, 2026. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin, friend and a very hard worker.

Joshua was born on June 3, 1990 to Kim Fyvie (mother) and Richard Lyman (father). He is survived by his mother, wife Aliyah Lyman, two sons Noah and Isaac, brothers Elijah and Lucas and sister Stephanie. Joshua's father Richard Lyman and his grandmother Patricia Lyons, who Joshua adored more than anyone, and grandparents Richard Fyvie and Judith Russell, predeceased him.

Joshua worked as a mason for most of his life and did beautiful concrete work. He also worked for Rensselaer County as a Process Technician.

Joshua loved to play baseball, golf, and throw around the football with his boys; he was very athletic from a young age, and passed those athletic skills on to his boys. He was a fan of the NY Giants, and a true country guy at heart. He always did what he could to pay it forward and help others as much as he could. Joshua always had a beautiful smile on his face and his laughter could fill a room. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going camping, being on a boat, waterskiing, and just relaxing at the lake. He also enjoyed snowmobiling in the winter time, and taking the boys sledding.

Joshua will be greatly missed; the memories of him will live on, through his family and friends, especially his two boys, and bring a smile to all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Although we lost a dear loved one, heaven gained another angel.

Calling hours for Joshua will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026 from 1pm to 3pm at Mason Memorial Home, 13 Belmont Place, Amsterdam. A funeral service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Joshua’s name to an education fund for Noah and Isaac, checks may be made out to Aliyah Lyman.
