Lori A. Ciarmiello

Lori Ann (Grandy) Ciarmiello, 63, passed away on July 2, 2026, with her family by her side. To nobody’s surprise, she went down swinging.

The party started on February 6, 1963. Lori was the third of ten children born to James and Kathleen (Moffett) Grandy in Schenectady, New York. Raised in Scotia as the eldest sister in a clan of ten siblings, Lori was a natural leader. Quick-witted and charming, she made friends (and a White Russian) everywhere she went.

Lori married Michael E. Ciarmiello in 1983 and raised two sons, Michael James and Daniel. Lori and Mike enjoyed thirty wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2013. An expert in the kitchen and on the golf course, and a connoisseur of good music and stand-up comedy, Lori was the life of any party she attended.

Lori is survived by sons Michael James (Holly) and Daniel (Gina); her siblings Jim, Shawn, Susan, Kacey, Pamela, Patricia, Kyle and Michael, as well as three step-siblings, Bradley, Lynda, and Kelly. Lori is predeceased by her husband Michael, father James, mother Kathleen, step-father Peter Quinn, and sister Jennifer.

Lori will be especially missed by her six loving grandchildren - Emilia, Elyssa, Michael, Nicholas, Kennedy, and Luca.

Calling hours will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10 am-12 pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. A blessing will take place at 12 pm. Lori specifically requested a large celebration to follow, so the party will continue shortly thereafter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
