Sheila Robin Marcello, 64, born on August 12, 1962, in Schenectady, New York, passed away peacefully at home in Amsterdam, New York, on August 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sheila was the beloved daughter of the late Orrin and Marion (Howard) Cook. She carried the values of family, loyalty, and hard work throughout her life, and those who knew her will remember her warm spirit, her generous heart, and her unmistakable ability to bring joy to any gathering. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, and her presence could light up a room. She was truly the life of the party and loved nothing more than sharing laughter, stories, and good times with the people she loved.
Sheila was married to Charles M. Marcello on June 20, 1997, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and shared memories.
In her working years, Sheila was known for her dedication and reliability. She spent many years at Price Chopper, where she worked in the deli and as a pizza maker, and later worked for several years at Lowe’s in Glenville. Her coworkers and customers alike appreciated her friendly nature, strong work ethic, and the pride she took in doing her job well. She approached her work with the same energy and sincerity that she brought to every part of her life.
Outside of work, Sheila enjoyed camping in Lake George and treasured the time she spent there with family and she loved taking her family to the Great Escape, creating memories that will be remembered for generations. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and softball. Above all else, Sheila loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and she found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by those she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Marcello; her children, Noah Cook and his wife Gina, Aaron Greenhalgh and his wife Melissa, and Brittny Harding and her husband Benjamin; and her cherished grandchildren, Quinn Cook, Vaughn Cook, Luke Cook, Sophia Greenhalgh, Chloe Greenhalgh, Leia Harding, Jack Harding, and Hadley Harding. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She is also survived by her sister, Dale Cook, along with many nieces and nephews who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Sheila was predeceased by her beloved son, Jason Greenhalgh, whose memory remained with her always. She was also predeceased by her siblings Alan, Michael, Wayne, Orrin, Peggy, and Diane.
Funeral services will be private at the convivence of the family.
