Obituary

Vicki A. Rumrill, 71, of Gloversville, New York, passed away on August 25, 2026, at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam, New York. She was born on October 16, 1954, in Gloversville, New York, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, kindness to others, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

She was the daughter of the late Cameron and Ethel (Gatti) Rumrill and a graduate of Gloversville High School. Vicki carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance throughout her life, and she was known for meeting each day with strength and determination. She was a longtime Home Health Aide, serving at several places over the years, including Pineview Commons in Johnstown. In that role, she brought comfort, compassion, and dignity to those in her care, and her work reflected the generous heart she shared so freely with others.

Vicki was a loving mother to the late Joseph Banovic, Michael Banovic (Patricia VanHoesen), and Joshua Watson (Jessica). She was a proud grandmother to Kati, Ashley, Joey Jr., Emali, Hanna, Marandah, Dylan, the late Haylei, and Wesley, and she cherished each of them deeply. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Nova, Mary, Anastasia, Brodi, Kinsley, Joey III, Kendric, and Matthias, who brought her great joy and added even more love to her family circle.

She is survived by her sister, Janice Dunn, and was predeceased by her brothers William, James, John, and Richard Rumrill. Family meant everything to Vicki, and she remained a steady and loving presence in the lives of those closest to her. Her strength, independence, and caring nature were evident in the way she lived and in the way she supported others through both ordinary days and difficult times.

Vicki will be remembered for her many interests and the warmth she brought to every setting. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, spending time on the beach, and tending to her plants in the garden. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was often the life of the party, bringing laughter and energy wherever she went. She was very caring and generous, and she had a strong and independent spirit that inspired those around her.

A celebration of Vicki’s life will be celebrated on her birthday, October 16, 2026 at a time to be determined.
